Generative AI Usage Guidelines
Generative AI Usage Guidelines from OneFOX
For outputs from provisioned tools accessible via OKTA
Generative AI Usage Guidelines for Tools Accessed via Okta
- Safety. FOX approved GPTs and other FOX approved Generative AI tools accessed through OKTA are generally safe to use because OpenAI and FOX’s other AI vendors have agreed not to train their AI models using FOX’s inputs. Do not use other GenAI tools and integrations because your inputs will likely be used to train their models, and the inputs (including FOX’s confidential information, trade secrets, or copyright-protected materials) may be shared with third parties without our permission.
- External/Commercial Use. Consult with your manager and Business Unit legal team prior to commercial or external use of any AI generated/manipulated output. In particular, consumer-facing uses may require legal disclosures (including that AI was used) and must be reviewed prior to publication. With respect to image or video generation, make sure to provide your Business Unit Legal Team with a record of: (1) the text prompt used to generate the image or video; (2) whether any image or video was uploaded for AI manipulation (Note: you should only upload images that you are certain FOX has IP rights to use); and (3) the resulting image or video output generated.
- IP Protection. FOX cannot prevent third parties from using outputs that are solely AI-generated. AI-generated outputs alone do not get copyright protection, are not patentable, and may not be unique to FOX. However, AI-generated outputs can provide a starting point for a piece of work that is eligible for protection. Using GenAI to generate ideas as a starting point for work that is compiled by humans and/or has other human-created elements still allows for protection of the human authored portion. It is a good idea to keep a record of what content GenAI created compared to what was created or altered by humans. Avoid making claims that any content that is solely AI-generated was created by a human.
- Third-Party Materials. Using prompts that seek, or are likely to result in, the use, replication, display, distribution, adaptation or performance of third-party materials, such as data, images, photographs, texts, song lyrics, screenplays, subtitles, video, audio, software, etc., should be avoided (including prompts that seek outputs “in the style of” known third-party materials), because the resulting Gen AI program output may give rise to claims of intellectual property infringement or breach of contract with FOX’s partners.
- Image and Likeness. Unless you have express permission to use an individual’s image and likeness, avoid using Gen AI tools to generate any outputs, including imagery, audio or video of identifiable people, especially children, celebrities, politicians, and other public figures (living or dead), or to generate output that looks or sounds like identifiable people because doing so may violate their right of publicity and/or right of privacy.
- Brands and Trademarks. Avoid using prompts that ask Gen AI tools to generate outputs that use other companies’ brands or trademarks as this could produce outputs that infringe such third parties’ intellectual property rights.
- Personal Information. Be careful not to use End-User data or personal information (PII) with any GenAI tool, as this can give rise to a claimed violation of privacy laws. Specifically, do not input personal information of any kind, sensitive financial information (including card payment information, company budgets, audit analyses), health information, passwords, HR-related information (such as salary or performance), legal matters, non-public information or offensive content.
- Accuracy. Avoid scenarios where use or misuse of GenAI could spread false narratives or misinformation, especially concerning sensitive topics, politics, or identifiable persons. Any and all outputs of GenAI should be reviewed carefully because they may contain inaccurate or biased information.
- Compliance. The use of Generative AI at FOX should always be in compliance with FOX’s standards and best practices, including the FOX Employee Handbook and the FOX Standards of Business Conduct.
